It was a good experience but definitely my favorite aspect throughout this school was the counselors, specifically my counselor Ms Couto. She was able to 100% get me ready for my next level of education. She also worked with both of my older brothers, so we had an even better connection. I could drop by in her office anytime I wanted with any questions or advice I needed and she made it known to students that she was more than a counselor. During my senior year, she was able to get a promotion at a better job and transferred to a different district which we were all happy for her, although that came with one less counselor. Once she left, all of us students totally understood that it would bring more weight to the remaining counselors, but this definitely led to a downfall in the Hercules High School counseling. Something I would want to see change for future students would be better counseling, and more support for these students throughout their 4 years for a better future.

A couple of times throughout the year we had no teacher for about a month. I felt like that really hurt my academic success. The best experience I had at Hercules High School was with the cross country team. Anyone could join, whether a runner was slow or fast. Although my Junior and Senior year were online during the pandemic, I would like to see better lunch options.

I went to school at Hercules High School, and I had an awesome experience. All the teachers were so amazing. I had an overall great learning environment, especially because of all the resources offered there.
