Delusions of Grandeur Walkthrough
In one of the vaults on Bloodmoon Island, you find a note on abookshelf. It's a detailed case of possession.
(Entrance of the hatch)
To open the statue, you need to let one character with Scholar tag to decipher Ornate Hymnal, it turns to The Taming of Holy Fire. This book can be found at multiple locations, including the archive on the northeast of the island, and a Black Ring member near the tree.)
Go to the Ancient Forge on the north of the island, forge a silver lever shaft with a silver bar.
Use thecrafted lever shafton the slot inside the vault, then cast Spirit Vision and ask the guardian to open the door. You must pass a persuasion check to get him to let you pass, otherwise you can consume his source to get through.
If you persuade the guardian to unseal the door, the Godwoken will be chained up and you can speak to her. She will tempt you with power. Accepting her offer will result in all your source points being drained and her attacking. If you refuse you will have to pass a speech check or you will be drained regardless. She will attempt to persuade each individual party member entering her prison to give her their source, so entering with your entire party is generally ill-advised, as they most likely won't all have the required persuasion. This can be circumvented by not having source points on your party, in which case you should watch out for the source puddles in her cell that can result in a character with low persuasion stepping in them, and immediately being forced to free Rajjarima, initiating a fight you may not be ready for. Whether you pass herspeech check or if you decide not to talk to her at all, you can kill her while sheis still chained without her fighting back, or by breaking the chains and she will attack. The quest will close immediately after killing her; if you talk to the guardian he will state that his watch has endedthen disappear.
If you consume the guardian's source, Rajjarima will already be unchained when you open the door. Defeat her to close the quest.
Rewards
Both options result in the same EXP gain (57,775 EXP, tested at level 15 and 16) and 7,775 EXP for killing her (at level 15).
Quest rewards: a Large Rune, an Epic equipment, and a small amount of gold, plus a single choice between four Epic equipment.
Bugs
The killing blow on Rajjarima must be dealt by theGodwokencharacter you usedto convince the ghost guardian, otherwise the quest item rewards won't appear.
Ifthe killing blow is dealt by another party member, you will still get EXP but no item quest rewards.
Tips & Tricks
- The spirit gives the reward and closes the quest if you don'tsource drain him. (Tell him you won't speak to the demon to open door). Thismightbe fixed in DE, quest will close when the possessed Godwoken dies.
- If you speak with the Chained GodwokenRajjarima, you can resist her speech checkwith minimum 4Persuasion with either Strength or Constitution, or minimum 5 Persuasion with either Intelligence or Wits.
- She will most likely one-shot the closest character at the start of the fight -- Over 2.5k dmg -- (spread out).
- If you used the silver next to the Ancient Forge and crafted the silver lever and used that for the central Blazing Sculpture location (questline The Sweet Shackles of Pain) you can make another silver lever by adding a silver item into the Ancient Forge.
