NDSCS to NDSU connection... hello?
http://www.inforum.com/event/article/id/229858/
I grew up in breckenridge and SCIENCE always have a talented team, period.
obviously our buddy Andre Smith helped NDSU out the most, with Hahn a couple years back as well.
David Richy's dad is the president and former coach...
So why isn't there a "tighter" Science to NDSU connection?
this Mckeiler is the real deal and Eayr's is starting for UW Milwaukee..
same deal for Bohl and football.
Are we overlooking science kids? or what's the skinny,

I'm quite sure our coaches never look there.Originally Posted by lakesbison

I would never go on record on saying Lakes is right, but I would say that our basketball team really needs to "take a chance" on a kid. Maybe he flunks out, maybe he doesn't get along with the kids. Our team GPA is like 3.2. I am pretty sure we can take a chance on a kid who can be a difference maker. Maybe a kid with an edge. Ridge is that guy.
Everyone just relax, all right? Believe me, if there's one thing Ron Burgundy knows, it's women.

Athletically...you have a point. I doubt that the coaches at NDSU fail to look there, but I'll make an assumption. The assumption would be that the academic standards differ, and that there have been 'issues' with some of the athletes that appear to be able to help out at NDSU.Originally Posted by lakesbison

I'd also say that these athletes come from all over the country, and that their goal wouldn't necessarily be to land at NDSU. Their goal would typically be to go back to their region of the country, or to play for a specific program other than NDSU's. They come to Wahpeton for athletic reasons, I'll assume. Meaning that they didn't come because of the curriculum, or the desirable location. They came to get their grades in order, and to play ball while in the process. In California, you don't even have to have a high school degree to get into a community (junior) college. Strange...indeed. Some of our community colleges have DI rosters, if they can manage to find the classroom. Some do...some don't.
Nothing against the school or the town of Wahpeton. It's a good place...but there's really only one reason why high level athletes would end up there consistently.
I don't really know...but these are a couple of hunches.

Foremost is McKeither, a preseason JUCO All-American pick. At 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds, he is muscled specimen who looks as much like a defensive end as a power forward. He has what coaches like to call a high-major body and some big schools like Oklahoma State, Kansas State and Wichita State are showing interest. Numerous mid-majors are, too. North Dakota State has visited Science to watch McKeither and others
DUDE IS A STAR.... and NDSU has 1 last schoolly left

Re: NDSCS to NDSU connection... hello?
i went to college at science, and lived in the dorm with the football and bball players, and it seemed like most but not all of the really good players have problems with their grades or with law enforcement, I guarantee you that that science does not get overlooked, when i was there i saw bohl and miles there several times in the cafeteria eating and conversing with players or walking around the student center with players...trust me they keep their eyes open for players that will contribute...not players that will be ineligible or in jail

I'll bet that the offer is to a few players. First to accept becomes a Bison.Originally Posted by ming01
