Triple-A: Syracuse Mets (34-24)

GAME 1: ST. PAUL 5, SYRACUSE 3 (BOX)

Having been rained out in the series opener on Tuesday, Syracuse played a doubleheader in St. Paul. In the first game, they opened the scoring with one run in the second, but St. Paul got one run off Dom Hamel in the bottom of the third to tie it. Syracuse plated two in the top of the fourth to retake the lead, but Hamel gave up four more runs in the bottom of the inning. That put Syracuse behind 5-3, and neither team scored the rest of the way.

Triple-A: Syracuse Mets (35-24)

GAME 2: SYRACUSE 9, ST. PAUL 4 (BOX)

In the second game of the doubleheader, things went much better for Syracuse. While Mike Vasil was just a bit better than Dom Hamel in the first game, the Mets’ offense had no issue scoring in the seven-inning game. A five-run second gave Syracuse a healthy lead early, and a four-run fourth really put the game away. They didn’t score again after that, but they didn’t need to.

Double-A: Binghamton Rumble Ponies (26-26)

BOWIE 6, BINGHAMTON 3 (BOX)

This one wasn’t quite as close as the final score looks, as Binghamton didn’t score through the first eight innings of their game in Bowie. The Baysox, however, scored often an early, getting four off Tyler Stuart in just 2.2 innings and two more off reliever Jordan Geber.

The Rumble Ponies finally broke through in the ninth, as the red-hot Ryan Clifford hit a three-run home run. He’s hit three home runs over Binghamton’s last four games. Despite his contributions, Binghamton has now lost three in a row.

High-A: Brooklyn Cyclones (29-25)

BROOKLYN 13, ABERDEEN 3 (BOX)

After allowing a run in the third and another in the fourth, the Cyclones plated a run in the bottom of the fourth to cut Aberdeen’s lead in half. Edwin Díaz, making the first appearance of his rehab assignment, threw a scoreless fifth with a pair of strikeouts, no walks, and one hit allowed. Perhaps inspired by that outing, the Cyclones’ lineup turned the game into a blowout beginning in the bottom of the inning.

They scored six runs in the frame and four more in the bottom of the sixth. The game was firmly in hand, but that didn’t stop them from plating two more in the bottom of the seventh.

20-year-old Bronx native Christopher Suero had a night to remember, as he went two-for three with two walks, a double, a home run, and five runs batted in.

Single-A: St. Lucie Mets (19-35)

DAYTONA 6, ST. LUCIE 4 (BOX)

St. Lucie trailed from the first inning through the end of the game in a loss. They scored one run in the fourth inning but allowed six through eight-and-a-half innings, and like the Rumble Ponies, they scored three runs in the ninth inning but came up short.
