I’m working my tail off and being cautious with big expenses in this market, but realizing that this trip was necessary.COVID and births have kept my wife and me from joining her family’s reunion in Michigan every June. This year, I couldn’t justify putting it off again.I initially planned the trip for her, but soon realized we all needed it. The girls have never been so immersed in nature, living as we do in an urban jungle. Seeing how much they love being out on the lake has been a proud dad moment.It hasn’t been all smooth sailing. Putting the girls to sleep in the same room with the sun still up and chaotic nap schedules has been challenging. But it’s a small price to pay for the fun and serenity (and endless darts, cornhole, and pool tournaments) we’ve enjoyed here.I’m on track to have the best year of my career, and this trip has been like getting the Starman halfway through the race in Mario Kart. Fired up to end the year strong!!

Achieving goals in this business is much more attainable with the right people around you, including colleagues, teammates, and especially clients. When you find individuals who align with your strategy, values, and philosophies, double down on those relationships. These connections often prove to be the most fruitful, extending far beyond a simple transaction.

I slowed down travel during COVID and birth of two kiddos over last few years but ramping it back up again, and it’s awesome. Flying to Denver rn then:- Meetings all day - Visit my guy Spencer Tyoran in our Denver office- Dinner with little brother- BOV presentation early AM tomorrow - Golf with a real estate bo$$Then back home to my girls tomorrow afternoon. Efficient 36-hours baby. S/o to my wife for holding down the fort with 2 highly active daughters under 3 ❤️

We all come to ICSC for the meetings, but I especially look forward to who you're going to connect with on the airplane, in the bathroom line, at the bar, the restaurant, etc. Those have coincidentally been very fortuitous run-ins.I had the best conversation with a national shopping center developer on the flight from LA to Vegas. He's been in commercial real estate much longer than I have, so I had the privilege of learning about his past and current deals, strategies, what he finds most helpful in brokerage companies, and even about his family.Great way to start the conference imo. Looking forward to seeing everyone who will be attending our poker event today!
